Alex Hormozi, founder of Acquisition.com, has challenged the conventional belief that passion is something people discover, arguing instead that it is cultivated through consistent effort, skill development and perseverance.

 

In a recent message, Hormozi said many people spend years searching for their passion, believing it is something they must first identify before pursuing a career or business. He maintained that passion is rarely the starting point. Rather, it emerges as individuals commit to mastering a skill and remain dedicated despite the inevitable challenges of the learning process.

 

According to Hormozi, every successful person begins as a novice. He stressed that developing expertise requires embracing discomfort, making mistakes and improving through repeated practice. As competence grows, confidence follows, and what once felt difficult often becomes deeply rewarding.

 

He noted that many accomplished professionals are frequently asked how they discovered their passion. His response, he said, is straightforward, they did not find it, they created it by starting before they were ready, accepting that they would struggle at first, and refusing to quit.
